Thanks so much for visiting Sustainable Family Home! If you’re here, your’re probably like me: struggling to keep a young family afloat, organized, (hopefully) being nice to each other, with a hectic schedule, people scattered in all directions — balanced with a home and lifestyle that’s not destroying the planet. I’m Grant, and with three kids 8 and under at home, I know the struggle is real.
At Sustainable Family Home, my goal is to help guide my family and yours into more sustainable territory: reducing waste, using less energy, increased recycling; basically anything that’s going to be helpful for the Earth. By making little changes here and there, even the busiest families can reduce their environmental impact.
Am I some sort of sustainability PhD? Nope. But I am someone who grew up on the rolling farmland and forests of eastern Ohio, which came with a sense of environmental stewardship. Recycling and basic sustainability practices were a normal way of life, and as I got older, I only wanted to increase those ideas and techniques. And with a bachelors degree in horticulture (plant growing stuff) and over 13 years of experience in nursery production and agriculture, I understand what it takes to minimize impacts and grow plants / food for an ever expanding population. Now with my own family, I get to see the little faces of the people that will inherit the Earth we leave behind, and I want to do everything I can to give them the best planet possible.
Ready to begin the journey with me? We don’t have to do everything, but we can do something. Please subscribe to Sustainable Family Home via email, and keep up with the updates and changes that I implement in my home and lifestyle. Hopefully you’ll find tips and products that fit into your home as well. Thanks for visiting!
